Learning Zone
About Learning Zone:
Welcome to the Learning Zone information page. LZ is a ministry provided to the CHB membership. You must be a current member of CHB and home- schooling full time in order to participate in LZ.
Learning Zone meets on Monday afternoons for three hours and runs for 16 weeks each semester. Children age 3 by October 1st through 4th grade are invited to attend. In addition there will be a supervised study hall for middle school students who are taking one or more classes through Outside the Zone or whose siblings are attending Learning Zone.
Learning Zone follows a true co-op model. We do not pay the teachers; however, everyone is required to contribute his or her time each week. There may also be a small fee for supplies when needed.
We have openings for children in all age groups. Depending on the response we may be able to add another elementary class as well.
The cost for Learning Zone will be the $25 registration fee per family per semester, which is a love offering that goes directly to Tates Creek Christian Church. If you have questions, please contact Gladie Green at weedyacres@windstream.net.
Registration is currently open. Mail your completed application (see above) to: 2600 Lillard’s Ferry, Versailles, 40383

becoming knights, riding on horses, embroidering and learning the finer elements of our Medieval Society. We will create period costumes and
have a knights tournament and a grand feast for the conclusion of our semester. Come have fun and explore all there is to explore in our

Gym (Michelle Lavin): This course will be similar to a PE class in a public or private school. This is a great opportunity for our children to
be able to play in a group environment.

Learning will be done mostly through hands on activities.

This year our topics of discussion will be Astornomy and Earth Science. We will start by looking at different parts of the universe including the parts of our solar system, stars, galaxies and space travel. We will then look at our earth in depth. Topics will include volcanoes, caves, rocks, atmosphere, water and weather. We will use
Exploring God’s Creation Through Astronomy and Christian Kids Explore Earth and Space as reference book for this course. (Students do NOT need copies of these books.) Learning will be done by mostly hands on activities.
